Justification for Selection
The deoxyribose phosphate aldolase-like gene TgPDA is recently described to be specifically expressed in bradyzoite. Since the DeoC domain is divergent from mammalian and most closely related to bacteria, TgPDA can potentially serve as a target for chemotherapy against brain cysts. [PMID: 18950626]
