Unpublished data indicate that the Calvin cycle enzyme sedoheptulose-1,7-bisphosphatase (TgSBPase) is plant plastid-like, but it is localized to the cytosol and not the 4-members parasite apicoplast. TgSBPase is essential for parasite survival by knock out studies, hence can serve as a parasite specific drug target.
